One-Off Moving Image Festival 2024 – ScreenSaverGallery

In a collaboration with ScreenSaverGallery the One-Off Moving Image Festival movies will be screening as part of programme “Blind Visions”, December 9 – 20, 2024. Get the app here (Windows, Max OS, Linux).

Let’s start with a little math. In his most recent essay, Society of the Psyop, Trevor Paglen describes the mechanism of human visual perception as a chain of physical, neurological, and psychological events that take our bodies 0.1-0.25 seconds to process. He points to this “lag time” as an opportunity for a trick that not only magicians, but also digital media, can exploit to create the appearance of seeing something that is actually impossible to see. The ability of machines to process vast amounts of data in a human “lag time” is obvious. In this way, people can witness at least 4 “miracles” in a deadly long 1 second.

We are happy to announce an “extension” of the One Off Moving Image Festival 2024, organized and curated by Noemata every year since 2018, presenting about 460 seconds of artworks that count. ScreenSaverGallery will easily perform these at least 1,840 “miracles” on your screens and it is just a matter of chance to witness them.

One-Off Moving Image Festival 2024

I am currently taking part in the One-Off Moving Image Festival 2024 “I cry and I cry”.

Welcome to the 7th edition of One-Off Moving Image Festival!
The festival is digital and screens the movies online during the festival November 15 – 24, 2024. In addition we use public space in Valencia (ES) and Gol (NO) to show the festival via QR-codes.

In addition, all One-OffF movies will be included in the next Leap Second Festival, an irregular x-ennale taking place at the second inserted into global time at 23:59:60 and lasting until 00:00:00.

One-OffF is an initiative from noemata.net, an artist-driven production site organising exhibitions, festivals and biennales, often in collaboration with international partners.

One-OffF is made with help from Arts and Culture Norway, fund for visual art projects.

The Wrong 5th Digital Art Biennale

I’m excited to have been selected for The Wrong Biennale nº5. My artwork will be part of “Objeto Virtual Não Identificado” Pavillion. The Wrong Biennale will run from November 1st, 2o21 to May 1st, 2o22.

The proposal of the art show “Objeto Virtual Não Identificado” (“Unidentified Virtual Object”) is to host and exhibit videos that have not been assumed and never released by those who created them. The plausible reasons and motivations for this can be many: insecurity about the quality of the work, doubts about its coherence, lack of adequate opportunities, lack of identification due to the time passed since production, perception that it is and cannot be completed, etc.

Celebrating digital culture since 2o13, the wrong is a collaborative effort harnessing the potential of the internet, shaped as a decentralized global art biennale & tv channel, open to participation, happening both online & offline, awarded with sois cultura 2o19 and ehrenerwähnung at s+t+arts 2o2o.

Pavilion: Objeto Virtual Não Identificado
Presented by: DATASHOW
